One decade in Engineering, dealing in rotary optical encoders, managing a subcontract machining business that had Airbus approval and finally consulting to a portfolio of companies one of whom he played a key role in the acquisition of a London based business owned by FedEx in the USA.
A decade consulting exclusively to a London based Printing and Publishing company during which time he played a key role in purchasing Loot newspaper from the Daily Mail Group.

When I first joined the hotel business. we had to operate with light and heat for only three days a week at a time before mobile phones, wifi and the other trappings that are the global on line revolution. At the time my parents view was this was as nought compared to running an hotel, as they did, during WW2.
